How to use the knife sharpening rod
- — Support the tip of the knife on a solid surface, like a cutting board on a kitchen counter, and hold the steel vertically with your non-dominant hand.
- — With your dominant hand, hold the knife firmly on the steel as close to the handle as possible. Twist the blade so that it is at a 20 degree angle to the steel.
- — Simply press gently and pull the blade down away from the steel so that the edge follows the steel from the part closest to the handle all the way down to the tip of the blade.
- — Move the blade to the other side of the steel and repeat the above steps. Four to five strokes on each side of the blade should be enough to realign the edge.
Important Notes:
- — Before the first use, clean the honing steel with tap water, then dry it with a cloth.
- — After honing, clean the honing steel and then wipe dry. Keep dry and ventilated when storing.
- — Please do not put it in the dishwasher for cleaning.
